Johns Hopkins University invites applications from faculty members excited by transforming undergraduate research in the humanities and more fully embracing underrepresented student populations. We will explore how to create and sustain a high-impact, intense 10-week undergraduate research program that allows students to work together on a diverse set of humanities projects spanning different fields, genres, and time periods, from translations of ancient Arabic poetry to examinations of the philosophical impact of artificial intelligence -- all in the same classroom.
Applications will be submitted by the faculty member who will also nominate one graduate student to accompany them throughout the program.
The Humanities Collaboratory will take place May 31, 2022-August 6, 2022. Faculty and graduate students will be required on-site at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus the weeks of June 1-June 17, 2022 and July 31-August 5, 2022. Housing and transportation will be provided for both the faculty member and graduate student.
