The JHU PhD Pathway in the Humanities and Social Sciences (PATHS) is a fully funded, residential summer research experience that prepares emerging scholars to pursue PhDs in the humanities and social sciences.
This program has a unique approach in bringing together students from different branches of humanities and social sciences scholarship to work together constructively while pursuing individual research projects. The 2025 PATHS program will be held on the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus from May 27 - August 2, 2025. Eligible participants are rising juniors and seniors enrolled at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs), tribal colleges/universities, or other Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs).
